Beatrice BERRUT Paraphrase über Arnold Schönbergs Verklärte Nacht op. 4

Free admission | Online reservation

“You have produced a wonderful arrangement together with a masterful presentation.” – Lawrence Schoenberg responded enthusiastically to the version of his father’s early work by Swiss pianist and conductor Beatrice Berrut, which was released on CD last year. Trained on the virtuoso paraphrases of her role model Franz Liszt, she has arranged the string sextet in an intoxicating version for piano full of evocative sounds, taking all necessary freedom. The program also includes transcriptions from the symphonies by Gustav Mahler, who was described as a “saint” by Arnold Schönberg.

The concert will be streamed live on facebook and YouTube and will be available seven days after the concert.
